About us

The venture was launched by my wife and I in collaboration with Michael Bochmann, formerly long-term leader of the English Symphony Orchestra, in September 2002. Our principal aim was to play our part in encouraging the live performance of classical music in provincial Britain. We have now promoted around 200 concerts in a number of counties across England but principally in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

We have been privileged to promote concerts at some lovely venues, including Berkeley Castle, Gloucestershire; the Lion Ballroom, Leominster, in Herefordshire; Hellens Manor, Much Marcle, nr Ledbury, also in Herefordshire; and Huntingdon Hall, Worcester.

Programmes, many given by international artists and ensembles, have included works for string orchestra, wind ensemble, string quartet, piano trio, piano solo and voice and a fascinating variety of pieces for different duo, trio, quartet and quintet combinations. In fact, we have put on concerts featuring from one to nearly twenty performers, ranging from solo to chamber orchestra size, and with music of all periods from medieval right through to contemporary, with a number of premières of works by present-day composers.

We aim to combine efficient and enterprising marketing and promotional skills with care in choosing artists, programmes and venues to provide high quality and enjoyable concerts for our audiences. We feel that a welcoming and relaxed environment greatly enhances the audience’s experience and we take care over this aspect at all our concerts. Whenever possible, we like to add complimentary extras, for example strawberries and cream at some of our summer concerts and mince pies/cakes in the winter.
